  • CF-SLP

Joelle Balcita, M.S., CF-SLP, is a North Carolina native who has called the city of Raleigh home since she was 2 years old.

Considering her deep fascination with language—its biological and social facets alike—Joelle found the perfect career for herself in speech-language pathology. She received her bachelor’s degree in linguistics, with a minor in speech and hearing sciences, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then went on to pursue her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from North Carolina Central University, obtaining clinical experience serving culturally-diverse populations in a variety of settings. In particular, she has gained knowledge and expertise in providing intervention to children with delays/disorders in articulation, phonology, and receptive/expressive language, as well as those with developmental disorders (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome). Joelle is now a Clinical Fellow in Speech-Language Pathology and intends on focusing her services on the provision of early intervention and neurodiversity-affirming care. She is wholeheartedly committed to engaging in the lifelong learning necessary to provide the best care to each child and family with whom she works.

In her free time, Joelle loves to listen to music and watch movies, and she has recently picked up crocheting as a hobby!
